Tools & Parts Required: Allen Wrench (1), Set Screws, O-Ring (1), Cap O-Ring (1), Strap Wrench (Not Included)

Step 1 - Clean Fuel Cap Area
Clean existing fuel cap area with your original fuel cap secure in original operating position (Be sure to leave original fuel cap on while cleaning to avoid contamination).

Step 2 - Remove Cap & Retaining Chain
Remove existing fuel cap and retaining chain.

Step 3 - Check If O-Ring Is In Place & Lubricate
Check to see if o-ring is in place on the underside of the Leak Defender® collar and cap. Lubricate o-rings on the Leak Defender® cap and collar to ensure proper fit upon installation.

Step 4 - Twist On Leak Defender® Collar
Install Leak Defender® collar on existing fuel filler neck by turning clockwise or counter-clockwise depending on the make of your truck.

Step 5 - Tighten Leak Defender®
Using a non-abrasive strap wrench, TIGHTEN the Leak Defender® collar, ensuring the o-ring seals to the tank neck.

NOTE: If the Leak Defender® is not tight enough, fuel cap may leak. It is important to tighten the Leak Defender® collar as much as possible. If leaking persists, remove & lubricate o-ring.

Step 6 - Install Set Screws & Tighten
Install set screws and tighten until secure with included allen wrench.

Step 7 - Install Leak Defender® Cap
Install Leak Defender® cap retaining spring on retaining chain. Place retaining spring in fuel neck and install Leak Defender® cap (not pictured). 

NOTE: The Leak Defender® must be installed with the included fuel cap in order to be covered under our warranty as other fuel caps are just not built with the precision and strength needed to prevent fuel cap leaks like ours.
