Using a non-abrasive strap wrench, TIGHTEN the Leak Defender® collar, ensuring the o-ring seals to the tank neck.
NOTE: If the Leak Defender® is not tight enough, fuel cap may leak. It is important to tighten the Leak Defender® collar as much as possible. If leaking persists, remove & lubricate o-ring.
Step 6 - Install Set Screws & Tighten
Step 7 - Install Leak Defender® Cap
Install Leak Defender® cap retaining spring on retaining chain. Place retaining spring in fuel neck and install Leak Defender® cap (not pictured).
NOTE: The Leak Defender® must be installed with the included fuel cap in order to be covered under our warranty as other fuel caps are just not built with the precision and strength needed to prevent fuel cap leaks like ours.
